AI Dashboards & Reporting: One View of the Numbers That Matter

Participants learn to decide which few numbers matter, use AI to build a live dashboard from their own data, and add AI-written insights that explain what changed and what to do next. They leave with a working dashboard and a reporting routine that takes minutes instead of days.

Key Outcomes
Choose the few measures that matter for each role
e.g., a sales manager sees pipeline, win rate and follow-up speed, not 30 charts
Prepare and connect data so the dashboard stays current
e.g., one clean table that refreshes from a shared sheet
Build clear charts and layouts with AI
e.g., a trend line for monthly revenue, a bar chart by region, a red flag below target
Write plain-language insights with AI and check them against the data
e.g., "Revenue fell because two key accounts paused orders", confirmed in the data before sharing

Why teams need this

Your numbers live in different spreadsheets, and every month someone spends days pulling them into a report. By the time it reaches management it is out of date, too long to read, or built around whatever was easiest to measure. As Kaplan and Norton wrote in Harvard Business Review, "What you measure is what you get."

Balanced Scorecard lens
Participants choose measures using the four perspectives from Kaplan and Norton's 1992 HBR article: Financial, Customer, Business Process, and Learning and Growth. The dashboard shows a balanced picture, not just the easiest numbers.
Storytelling with Data principles
Every chart is tested against Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic's approach of interpreting the data, turning numbers into a story, and using design to guide attention.
Built live, then tested
Each participant builds a working dashboard from their own data. In the group challenge, teams swap dashboards and run a "five-second test": can a colleague say what needs attention within five seconds? Then they role-play a monthly review meeting where the presenter explains what changed and what to do.

Dashboards are built in the tool your team already uses (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets with Looker Studio, or Power BI), with AI help from your approved tools. They can focus on one department, such as sales, operations, HR, finance or customer service.
